Re: Pro-Life or Pro-Choice?
True in a way. But when the baby endangers the life of a raped parent then it's no longer abortion is self-defense. If a burglar enters your house and you have a gun then you best shoot him in the face because he means you harm. The baby doesn't mean harm but if you don't kill it then two people will die instead of just one. Logical but heartbreaking conclusion. As for the parents, well, they're retarded.

Re: Pro-Life or Pro-Choice?
so this is what you must understand..once a pro-life law goes into effect...women of whatever age will no longer have the choice of saving their lives against dangerous pregnancies. the 11 year old girl would have had no choice to terminate the pregnancy anyway. there must be an in-between law. something that will allow the termination of deadly pregnancies. which is why atleast a pro-choice law allows this to happen..it is just a shame that reckless people take advantage of the law.

And that's when you bring in the wire hangers...
((sorry, inside joke))
As for the subject at hand, I feel that the law should be left alone, as is, no changes. I really don't feel that Abortion=Murder, but in the sense of taking life, yes it equates.

Re: Pro-Life or Pro-Choice?
No no no what I'm saying is that it would be Self Defense if her life was endangered.
This wouldn't happen:
Doctor: If you have the baby you'll die.
Woman: So what do we do?
Doctor: I dunno, it's your problem now *leaves room*
They would still abort the baby anyway because it's not so much an abortion as it is self defense.

Re: Pro-Life or Pro-Choice?
For me, if the baby is in its late stages of development, and the physical features and bodily functions have been developed(like a heart) then its practically murder.
However an early abortion, when the cluster of cells with the potentail to become a baby is all thats there. That's when abortion to me is ok, as its not a baby. But its growing into one. Abortion just stops the process.
And besides I believe we as humans have the right to do what we want with our bodies. If a mother decides shes not ready for a baby, then the choice is her's and the fathers. But the mother's body is the one being changed, and the mother has more of a right to decide.
So Pro-choice for me. Who wants to be told what to do?
