Re: Pink Floyd.
Actually I think Floyd never did achieve the success they had with Dark Side of the Moon again. The Wall was good.. but I still prefer Dark Side of the Moon

Re: Pink Floyd.
There were definitely winners and losers in the Pink Floyd albums.
The first album was an into album. It wasn't the classic Floyd sound at all.
Ummagumma was definitely the worst album they put out. Atom Heart Mother was a waste of their time and effort, in my opinon. I wasn't impressed by The Final Cut. The Division Bell just turned me right off.
More was a filler Album, in fact it only took about a week to record. Yet it was mellow and easy to listen to... or fairly easy.
Their best were Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, Animals, and Momentary Lapse of Reason.

Re: Pink Floyd.
The two tracks that stick out in my mind, Wish You Were Here and Comfortably Numb. Sure there are loads of tracks, if i listen again, i would say were tracks that were on my favourite list but when i havent heard them for a while, those two are always in my head

Re: Pink Floyd.
Well let's see:
Money and Us and Them were the first really big hits by Floyd... that was in 1973. Then came Shine on you Crazy Diamand, Welcome to the Machine, and Have a Cigar from Wish you were here. Animals really produced no real hits, at one time or another Pigs (Three Different Ones) and Sheep got some airtime. The Wall produced several songs which were good, but the tracks most people heard were Another Brick in the Wall, Hey You and Comfortably Numb. A Momentary Lapse of Reason gave us the tracks of Learning to Fly and The Dogs of War. I can make a pretty good Greatest Hits CD out of those songs. lol

Money is classic... lol, I love that song.
I think Floyd has a very distinct sound... its mellow yet happy music. Kind of hard to explain it but... they have in my opinion turned out some good ones.

Re: Pink Floyd.
As far as mainstream goes, I'd have to say Pink floyd is one of my favorites also.
Wish you were here > The dark side of the moon.
I actually wore my "Welcom to the machine" shirt today rather than my Prism shirt, so I felt an inherent need to post. XD
