They're photos of the Santa Monica Mountains in Malibu. First photo is from my balcony. I took the second while out hiking.

Dang. You have a nice view. I'm so sick of looking at my neighbors laundry. Ah, the sight of freshly washed (huge) BVDs in the morning, its so...well, whatever, I'm sure you catch my drift...
I've spent a lot of time hiking in West Virginia growing up. I enjoy it, but I can never scrounge up enough time to do it anymore. Sigh.
Where have you hiked?

No really exotic places. 
Currently, I like to hike the trail shown in the second photo. It's just a couple of miles upslope from my home. It's the area you see when the helicopters fly into the mountains in the opening of M*A*S*H and is above the site of the old M*A*S*H set.
When I lived in the San Gabriel Valley in eastern Los Angeles, there were a number of areas I hiked there. The Angeles Crest is nice, as is the Chantry Flats area (but too many bugs).

I love M.A.S.H. That's so cool that you're so close to the old set! Is it really that rugged?
I went to WV with my parents, but now I have to content myself with just walking the railroad tracks.
There's this really high bridge that crosses the freeway and it's exciting to look down between the tracks and see the cars racing along underneath. I probably shouldn't be up there. But it's so nervewrackingly fun!

The side you see in the TV series is very steep indeed. Advanced mountain bikers like to go up/down that side. On foot, it's too much to go all the way down and back up, but I often go halfway down or more before returning. The views are dramatic.
The other side has a gentle loop for when I'm in the mood for an easier hike.

I always thought Florida was so flat...
Like Iowa. Now there's a flat state. It's great to visit if you like corn. Lots of corn. For every meal.
