King Tut exhibit: window to history, or grave robbery

i have had a problem with the way people treat old artifacts and gravesite of those from our past. i was wondering if anyone else here in the enigma world thinks the same. we go through the pyramids, removing the inhabits and all of their belongs...but does this cross the line. if its all in the name of science does that make it ok. will they be able to dig up dead loved ones of just anyone all in the name of science.

There is a very thing line between historical and scientific exploration and needless plundering.

Yes certian things should remain sacred, however as humans were are compelled to study and learn.

Like so many other things, its a dangerous doubled edge sword.

I have never understood the reason for digging up remains unless it's to aid a murder enquiry.
As far as I am concerned that is the only reason to disturb the dead.
I really do think that some people only go out "Tomb Raiding" because of the Games and Films that were created and made it look like something you should do because it is adventurous.
How many Lara Crofts or Indiana Jones have been created in the last 20 or so years?
Probably a lot more than would have been if the Films and Games didn't exist.
I haven nothing against either character but dead things and buried things should remain where they were put.
I don't think it's such a brilliant idea to dig up a corpse which happens to have a million little gems with it.
Then 50 security guards have to be put on Around the Clock Surveillance just to make sure that no one tries to steal it.
Or even worse Breathe near it.
That's another thing about it that makes me laugh.
People spend months and years looking for the remains of a dead person and then it gets put in a glass case for everyone to pay £20 or whatever to look at it.
But you can't touch it as it's too fragile and it will disintegrate.
So why dig it up in the first place????

I hate it when they move entire graveyards just to build new roads or worse new houses.
Life must go on and we must move forward but show some respect.

i think opening up tombs..taking the bodies, items, and treasures is completely disrespectuful to the dead. i would hate to think that hundreads of years from now someone would dig up my body or the bodies of people i love just to learn how we lived in this era. disturbing the piece is bad no matter what the reason.

According to all the stories I've heard, those people get it in the end.
I dont know if it's Karma or the mummy's curse but I think they do regret their actions.
